Networking at the Dundalk Florist
  Dundalk Florist has no doubt been busy for the last 100 years. The Chamber of Commerce recently held a networking event on May 19. Cindy Morrison gave a brief history of the highlights over the past 100 years.
  Elected local representatives were also on hand to give a recap of legislation which was recently voted on in Annapolis.
  This event was sponsored by McCoy Appraisal Services. Professional Touch Caterers catered this event.
  Dundalk Florist gave every attendee a flower as they exited the greenhouse.

Outstanding Teacher Awards 2010
  The Dundalk Chamber of Commerce held the 6th Outstanding Teachers Awards and Recognition Dinner on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at Martin’s East. Over 200 attendees including teachers, their co-workers, principles, family & Chamber Members were gathered as the awards were presented. The first presentation was from Governor O’Malley who stopped briefly to congratulate the four winning teachers and give them a framed citation from him. The teachers were all awarded a check for $500.00 and a beautiful engraved plaque as well as a tote bag full of goodies from Chamber Members. Many local elected officials presented the four winners with more citations for their excellent work. Chamber President Deborah Cornely & Past President Dr. Carol Sullivan emceed the event.
  The Chamber was extremely thankful for the sponsors who helped put on this event: CCBC, Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, The Patapsco Bank, The Dundalk Eagle, Orphans’ Court Judges, McCoy Appraisal Services, Patient First, McJilton Insurance Services, Duda-Ruck Funeral Home, Senator & Mrs Norman R. Stone Jr.
  The Chamber paid for all the nominees as well as the winning teachers dinners. Sparrows Point High School provided the Steel Drum Band entertainment before the evening started.

Northeast Networking Event
  On April 21st, the Dundalk Chamber of Commerce joined 4 other local Business Associations for the 3rd Northeast Networking Event at Brightview White Marsh Assisted Living. The food prepared by Chef Mike was delicious! Each Association donated door prizes which were drawn at the end of the evening. The Dundalk Chamber hopes to participate next year in this event.

Dundalk Florist 100 Year Celebration - April 17, 2010

  Well-known Dundalk Florist proprietors Auggie and Louise Koch, the third generation of family to operate the business during the past 100 years, were on hand Saturday for a ribbon-cutting to mark the beginning of their second century in business. The ceremony was part of a special Open House held in the shop and greenhouse. The Kochs received commemorative certificates from Del. Joseph "Sonny" Minnick who represented the local legislative delegation, from the county executive's office and from the offices of senators Barbara Mikulski and Benjamin Cardin. They also were presented with The Century Award by a representative from the Society of American Florists and with a testimonial plaque from teleflora, whose chairman flew in from Oklahoma City to attend the event. The florist shop and greenhouse were packed with well-wishers who enjoyed food and cake, a free prize wheel, face painting and an inflatable playhouse house for youngsters, and special deals on floral purchases. Pictured are the Kochs with members of the fourth generation of their family who help run the business, along with several professional friends; (from left) daughter Dawn Kuhnert, Louise Koch, daughter Cindy Morrison, Cathy Bevins representing the Baltimore County Executive's Office, daughter Lynn Hershner, Deb Comely of the Dundalk Chamber of Commerce, Tom Butler chairman of teleflora, Auggie Koch, Del.   Employees of Dundalk Florist who received their business service pins during Saturday's Open House are pictured with Auggie and Louise Koch (seated) and Cookie, the family dog. The Koch family has operated the business since its founding in 1910. Auggie, now semi-retired, began working at age five alongside his mother, father and siblings while his grandmother was in charge of daily operations. St Patrick's Day Luncheon
  The Dundalk Chamber of Commerce enjoyed corned beef & cabbage and ham & cabbage to celebrate St Patrick’s Day Wednesday March 17 at the Poplar Inn sponsored by Senator Norman R. Stone Jr. Speaker Tom Shouldice, Principal of Dundalk High spoke about the 2 new schools to be built on the high school grounds beginning this fall.

Networking at Vinny’s Cafe 2010
  On February 18th, the Dundalk Chamber of Commerce held their Networking Event at Vinny’s Café on Holabird Avenue. Members enjoyed an Italian Buffet including Vinny’s 30 inch MEGA PIZZA. There was a speaker representing the DRC who told business members about the importance of planting trees.

  More than 100 members and guests attended the Dundalk Chamber of Commerce's annual Snowball Gala and Installation at Sparrows Point Country Club on Saturday night. Emcee Scott Gardner of Duda-Ruck Funeral Home offered a welcome and introduced board members and officers who were sworn in by Circuit Judge Patrick Stringer, followed by remarks from Chamber president Deborah Cornely of The Eagle and an invocation by Monsignor Joseph S. Lizor Jr. Newly installed officers included vice president Jim Bartucca of FastSigns, treasurer Bernice Sotaski of Patapsco Bank, secretary Diane MacDougall of the Woman's Club of Dundalk, past president Carol Sullivan of CCBC Dundalk, board members Danielle Alderson of Chick-fil-A, Katie Bunce of Sparrows Point Country Club, David Hash of Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, Justin Jones of Duda-Ruck Funeral Home, Sharon Luette of North Point Self Storage, Dolly McCoy of McCoy Appraisal Services, Gloria McJilton of McJilton Insurance Services, Amy Menzer of Dundalk Renaissance Corp. and Janet Rafky of Franklin Square Hospital Center. Holly McJilton received a bououet for her efforts in organizing the event. The gala was sponsored by McJilton Insurance Services, the Patapsco Bank, Community College of Baltimore County, Franklin Square Hospital Center, Baltimore County Sitting Judges, Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, Chick-fil-A of Eastpoint and Sen. and Mrs. Norman R. Chamber Holiday Luncheon 2009
  On Wednesday December 9th 2009, almost 60 members attended the annual Holiday Luncheon at Sparrows Point Country Club. The Great Expectations provided entertainment. Members could purchase tickets for the Chinese Auction. All enjoyed a delicious buffet & the beautiful decorations of the club.

  On November 5, 2009, the Dundalk Chamber of Commerce held it’s second Annual Business Recognition Awards Breakfast. Over 40 members were in attendance at Sparrows Point Country Club. Deborah Cornely, Diane MacDougall and Jordan Hadfield serve on the committee who chose the following awards:

Crab Feast 2009
  The Dundalk Chamber of Commerce held it's 7th Annual Crab Feast on Thursday, August 25, at the home of Honorary Members Louise & Auggie Koch on German Hill Rd.
  Over 40 members enjoyed crabs and a variety of other delicious dishes brought by members. Other menu items included, roast beef, bar-b-q, Chick-fil-A nuggets, meatballs, chicken & broccoli casserole, fruit salad, pasta salad, potato salad, deviled eggs, strawberry short cake, sheet cake, pineapple upside down cake, brownies and lots of cold drinks. The pool was also available for a quick dip to cool off on the hot and humid day.
  The Chamber says a big "Thank You" to the Koch's for allowing us to use their beautiful big yard for our "Feast". Special "thank you" to Cindy for organizing the menu and crabs, and Scott for bringing the cold drinks and chairs, and everyone who donated a dish. We hope to see you next year.

2nd Annual Golf Tournament
  On July 20th, the Dundalk Chamber held their 2nd Annual Golf Tournament at the Sparrow’s Point Country Club. Lunch was provided by Chick~Fil~A on the course and a Buffet Dinner followed at the Sparrows Point Country Club. Breakfast Networking at the Boulevard Diner
  On June 18 at 7:30 a.m. the Chamber held a "State of the Chamber" meeting starting with a delicious breakfast at the Boulevard Diner. With over 40 members in attendance, President Deborah Cornely reviewed the past, present and future events. Each committee chair was given the opportunity to brief members on the various different projects they oversee.
Senator Norman Stone and Delegate John Olszewski Jr. were also present to brief members on the latest legislative issues in Dundalk.

Networking at the Florist with Dr. Mike
  On May 20 the Dundalk Chamber of Commerce gathered at The Dundalk Florist greenhouse. Dr. Mike Martin of ADIO Chiropractic gave an informative presentation on chiropractic procedures to benefit our health. Also tips on dealing with stress in todays world. The event was catered by new member Sterling Caterers.

Outstanding Teacher Awards 2009
  The Dundalk Chamber of Commerce held the 5th Outstanding Teachers Awards and Recognition Banquet on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at Martin’s East. Many teachers, their families, principles and honored guests were in attendance.
  The winning teachers received a basket of flowers, a tote bag filled with gifts, a plaque and check. Several local politicians also provided each teacher with a certificate for their outstanding accomplishments.

Snowball Gala 2009
  On Saturday, January 17, the Dundalk Chamber of Commerce held their annual Snowball Gala and Installation Banquet at the Sparrows Point Country Club.
  Sponsors for the Gala included: The Community College of Baltimore County, Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, William R. Evans Attorney at Law, Senator and Mrs. Norman R. Stone, Jr., The Dundalk Eagle and the Dundalk Renaissance Corporation.
  Holly McJilton chaired the event. Councilman John Olszewski was guest speaker. Judge William Evans did the swearing in of Officers and Board Members for 2009.
